My roommate Madi is trans and was just unjustly fired from her server job. She is starting school, an unpaid internship and traveling to New York for surgery consultation in the next month, and this was her only source of income.

I first want to say my heart is filled with warmth for those who have written me lovely messages and donated to my health complication. It really does mean everything to me. I was originally diagnosed with something called Henoch. After seeing more doctors and getting more blood work done when it was becoming worse and worse. I traveled 3 hours to see a specific doctor whom diagnosed me with dariers disease as well. There are a lot of different medical options like laser surgery, they are all very dangerous. I am not sure what I exactly want to do right now so I have been seeking naturopaths and holistic healings at the moment in California. This whole thing is very painful.

What the $ goes towards:
The $ goes towards my bills, as you can see one of the many I have added to this post. I have about $3,500 due. My gofundme money is set aside for following up with surgerical procedure If all else fails as well as paying off bills. I have medi-cal which doesn’t take care of much for the type of doctors I would see for something this rare/intense. The money goes towards eating, living, transportation including to therapy, natural medicine/ topicals that have been helping such as Dragon blood oil, tea tree oil, Emu oil, Dr. Sebi cream $25 for 2oz (8oz last me a month), Dr Morse supplements, Argan oil,etc., and taking care of myself overall.
Work issues:
I was fired for telling a guy I had sex with in the past for saying “fuck off” when he had been harassing me and emotionally manipulating/abusing me at work and have had a hard time finding work after. I know someone had commented on the photos on my blog that I should get medical disability for working. Unfortunately this is not something you can be qualified to not work with. But that doesn’t stop bosses and companies to discriminate you for it and not hire you because of the look of it. I have gone to several interviews that I am qualified for based on experience. Why do some Black writers live—having their novels turned into films 44 years later, becoming the voice of revolution, and winning the highest literary awards—while others are left to die with their work going out of print, growing thick coats of dust in used bookstores, and becoming nearly extinct? The obvious answer is that some live while others die because their works transcended the times that they wrote in, reaching the holy grail of immortality many writers hope for. But that would be a lie.
I want other young people to understand that if the extent of your radical action is posting “eat the rich!” on social media and waiting for somebody to tell you a revolution has started, nothing will change and you’ll get arrested in the Third Red Scare and that’ll be it
And most importantly, joinradical groups in your area. Strength is found in numbers and none of us can change the world alone. If you need help finding your local movement, DM me and I’ll look around for you so you can start getting stuff done
Feed the people. People can’t–won’t– strike, protest, go against the bosses, sit in, down, or out, show up for community actions, marches or any other damn thing, and they won’t put thier jobs or homes or freedom or ability to feed and house thier kids in jepoardy unless you can answer the question “How are we going to eat?”
You’ve got to have an alternative. People need to eat and live and meet thier needs and the needs of the people they are responsible for. People have to come together and get each other taken care of and fed. Otherwise the only people who show up are the ones who can afford to. And since the group of people who both have resources-time, emotional, financial, transportation, etc and want to show up and change the system–is fairly small, and not growing fast…. That’s not enough people for a revolution.
Learn consensus. Build community with people. Talk to the humans around you and figure out what they need and how to organize people to meet that need. People aren’t going to show up and be told what they need. If you–if we–want a different system, we have to show up and show–not tell-people how they can meet each other’s needs.
and if your sole contribution is gatekeeping and infighting, you are part of the problem, not part of the solution. turn outward. look for opportunities to help. DO SOME WORK.
